I'm probably missing something obvious, yet I cannot make out why my totals? Anyone know why?

Yes does not make any sense. Should you accidentally delete a flight there is also no way of recovering it that I know off.

It's pure pot luck if the flight details update. I tried to upload my past six flights and whilst the total flights increased to reflect the flights the distance and flight time didn't then after my last flight all six updated at once - some a week later. It is glitchy as hell. That said though - they all updated after I upgraded the fly app to v1.1.6 - may be that has fixed it?!

I checked mine and all the numbers are correct. Every few days I press update and I have the cloud active.

I use multiple devices, and with Go4 on some, Fly on others, its a dog's breakfast of results, I gave up worrying if it was correct or not.  Seems flaky (Fly).
