Hi,

Found a cheap accessory for my MA2, cheap and it does fit great!
Strap is comfy a good adjustable, did a flight today and yes, more control on the sticks as you do not have to lift the RC up with both hands.

How securely does it attach?

I have something quite similar, it works well.

It should work for a phone. But for a tablet, I needed to adjust the support to get it to hang level. I made a custom bracket and bent it to fit ;-) It keeps the remote from swinging also. Note that the strap attaches well above the center of mass.

Yes and pigs will fly. Smart controller compatibility? I think it’s just a pipe dream or something for a future controller.

DJI has removed all references to future compatibility from the Mavic Air 2 and Smart Controller product pages. When the Mavic Air 2 was released compatibility was promised “within weeks”.

Neither one of those statements are accurate.  DJI has never formally stated a timeline for their support of the SC with the MA2.  They have always just said “a future firmware update” without giving any timing information. Their FAQ page still says exactly the same thing today as it said on day 1.

And that’s the issue. They (DJI) don’t make  many official statements or amend them or really even address them.
DJI is a camera company. If any of the traditional camera companies, (The big 3) operates like DJI
They would lose their customers.
DJI primarily relies on YouTube reviewers to make their announcements, further distancing  them from any real responsibility.
Have you noticed that DJI’s  Support YouTube  channel has nothing except an unboxing for the Mavic Air 2?
Even on the forum here they don’t make announcements of the firmware changes.  They push info to YouTube reviewers instead of along official lines.
