Sounds like a lot of luck behind it (and possibly knowing someone on the inside of the corporation)

It was luck from my side.
No inside job unfortunately.
But I know how to do it for real (without luck).
Only don't have the time or means to go down that road.
Plus I like it to be a hobby.

Good for you mate. Thats why I've never gone professional with drones - it would destroy the hobby and overall enjoyment for me into prioritising commercial gain and flying as a service for others to enjoy.

Exactly.
I'm not sure whether I have what it takes either.
But I will never find out since I feel the same about that.

I'm sure you do. If it's your work and main source of income you will invest the time and learning to make it so, at least I would but I earn a lot more in my normal line of work than flying a drone would pay

My main concern with being a 'youtuber' as my source of income is that I would have to make stuff because I needed to instead of because I wanted to.
Now that can go well, but it is a thin line and very often leads to less inspirational content.
Also you notice that a lot of full time youtubers are having a hard time mentally because of the pressure of having to make hits and competing to their own success and that of others.

Very true - I've seen many a video where the content creator is clearly doing it just to get clicks and unfortunately it becomes counterproductive as subs start to disappear.
