Crossing this road I was struck by the cycle of agriculture:
At the bottom, a maize crop maturing for harvest in September.
To the left, a field ploughed and harrowed, ready and waiting for the next crop.
On the right, a meadow grazed almost bare, and awaiting treatment and re-seeding.
At the top, a field lying fallow and waiting for the introduction of goats to graze it off.

Great Shot    - I love walking through fallow fields,  the amount of different crops growing is usually incredible.

Here they cycle between corn, wheat, rape, broad beans (I believe for animal feed) and a little sweetcorn.  But in the fallow fields it not unusual to see cabbages and potatoes which Ive not seen grown on those fields for years.

Here we often see a potato patch at the edge of a cornfield. I'm sure they're for personal consumption rather than for re-sale.
