In rural France, road resurfacing on secondary roads is commonly done by the tar-and-gravel method.
The tar sprayer truck is followed a few moments later by a couple of trucks, in reverse, spreading gravel.
Then road rollers follow behind, compacting the surface. It's not a particularly effective process,
and a great deal of the gravel gets flicked off the road by subsequent traffic, into ditches and is wasted.
A week or so later, road sweeper trucks come along, collecting the trails of gravel from the roadsides.

Thanks AJ. Since they were working on the road outside our house, we were effectively "trapped" at home for half a day as we couldn't get the car out. SO, they were a great target for my attentions with the drone. The P4 on that occasion.

But of course!  Always have a drone on hand for any eventuality.
In 2015 the Tour de France actually passed our front door. We had a huge party and ringside seats as first the caravan and then the peloton zoomed past.  It would have been really something to have filmed all that. But of course it would have been a no-no with all those helicopters whizzing about.  And in 2015 I didn't have a drone yet

Yeah. You may have seen my earlier comment about the Tour de France cycle race passing our drive entrance in 2015.  Lucky I didn't have a drone at the time, as numerous helicopters follow the peloton and I would have been grounded anyway.

Yeah we held a big party in the garden and cheered as they stormed past. It was on TV as well so we got to see ourselves on the small screen for a few seconds

Yes I saw that video. Could the lasers have damaged the optical sensor with a direct hit?  I know they're highly illegal, some airline pilots have been blinded (temporarily I hope) by lasers directed into the cockpit as they're coming in to land
