IMPORTANT UPDATE:

There is a complete reversal to the below message.  LDM usage in all countries requires an LDM application submission in the DJI Developer Center here: https://developer.dji.com/user/ldm/

Applications submitted for the US will be approved immediately on submission and if you experience any issues with this, email DJI Developer Support right away at: dev@dji.com

<OUTDATED MESSAGE BELOW>
Some DJI Developers who have a Pro account maybe scratching your heads about a new addition called "Apply LDM", seen in the Developer Center.  If you use LDM in your app maybe you're wondering if you need to apply for these licenses. If you don't use LDM and are just curious what it is - see this article:
Offline Mode - How to use SDK without Internet
The answer is, that it depends on what country you intend your app to be used in. Some countries will require this application process and for now, it's only China but more could be coming.  So if your users are taking your app into China they will not be able to enable LDM mode unless you've applied and received this license.  If your app is used outside of China or your pilots have no intention of using LDM in China then you do not need to worry about this.
