just want to share that i just made a 3.3km flight, at a open area, within line of sight.

the signal was still strong when i turn around.
next time i would try 4km.

p.s. just the orinigal P3, no modification

he was more thinking about radio line of sight ...

I had my eyes lasered and now I can look 8.5 km in 4k  

By "line of sight", I just mean that there is nothing in between.....  no tall building , no hill , not even tree

The total length of flight was 9km, took 12 minutes.
Start at 100% , end at 42% battery level.
