I tried to review video from my Mavic Air 2 for the first time. Quicktime won't open them giving me some sort or incompatibility error.  I can play "Quickshot" videos fine but normal 4k filming videos are giving me issues. I downloaded Elmedia Player however the 4k 60fps videos are very choppy.   Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  I am hoping I do not need another computer.
My Macbook Pro states it :
Early 2015
2.7Ghz Intel i5
8 GB 1867 Mhz DDR3
Intel Iris 1536mb
the display is 2560x1600

Have you ever wiped your Macbook and reinstalled the OS? Over time a PC or a Mac can become slow from all the apps installed over time. If you have the ability to do a clean install of the Mac OS and then see how the 4k videos play then you can be for sure if its the age of your Mac or not.

I will try that. But as far as the MacBooks specs go, should it be able to playback 4K off a memory card?  I am not editing, just playing the video.

I think it should be able to play them.

If your video is in h265 this is too old to play it smoothly.

I apologize, I am rather new to this. I am not necessarily familiar with the video format you mentioned. If it helps, my drone is a Mavic air two. Thank you for your time

If you record in 4K at 60 frames per second the camera will only record in H.265. Your Mac appears to not be powerful enough to handle that codec. Select 4K at 30fps and ensure you are recording in H.264 within the app. You should be able to at least view the 4K video without any issues though editing may be limited.

Try other players....it should work also in h265, the player is the problem does not use hw decding, only soft and is eating cpu instead of gpu
