I just watched this video on the CrystalSky Monitor.

About midway through (3:20) he discusses why the DJI FLY app may work in the future on the SmartController and the challenges that DJI have in making it work.

Fly App is 64 Bit. Android 7.0

CrystalSkyis Android 5.0 and 32 bit. No chance?

SmartController is Android 7.0 but is 32 bit……gasp.

So DJI only have 3 options if this is the case.

• Make a DJI FLY app version 32 bit.
• Expand DJI Go 4 to include the Air 2.
• Welch on the commitment.
  

A member here said he sideloaded it to the SC and it bascially worked but did not fly to test.

Now we know why it may be taking so long.

Any comments?

Something there doesn't add up,  you cannot run a 64 bit app on 32bit O/S so either the app has 32bit or SC is 64bit.

Yes, I agree. Thats why I asked for comments. Does anyone know for certain what the SC is running as an OS? 32 or 64?

Thanks for the info.

That would make sense running 32 bit OS but has a 64bit CPU.

So would require a new OS build. That would take some effort I guess.

The Crystalsky is dead. The new Matrice 300 already has a Smart Controller that only works for the drone. Therefore the Crystalsky will not get any more updates. All new drones will fly with the Fly App.
DJI does not want to have to update several versions with every update, which all have to be developed individually. Therefore it will be exciting to see which app the next drone will get. I guess the Fly APP and the DJI GO 4 app will be used for the commercial drones. (Inspire, Matrice...)

Take a look at  this tablet www.tripltek.com . Before I was flying with the CrystalSky 7 ,  after realize that is not compatible with my Mavic Air 2 , I bought this tablet. I have to say it is has the same or better quality that the CrstalSky . No problem on any of my drone with both Apps. And it is Android 8.1 . Bought it on Amazon.  This is the way to go a 64 bits Tablet with 1200 nits with a battery that last a day at a maximum brightness.

I'm sure they will Daf - they are still supporting the original GO app from the Phantom 3, Inspire 1 and Osmo 1 releases.

They were when I last used it on Q4 2019

The firmware  for the Smart Controller and Mavic Air2 compatibility was just released today
