With the authorisation of the proprietor, this 'flight' within the courtyard of this property does not contravene the No-Fly zone for the village.
It just required a take-off and hover at 30 metres to get this shot.

And then a little higher, at 50 metres which is the maximum allowed.

Hi DMD. Thanks. Any "Agglomeration" in France, which means anything from a hamlet of a few houses, to a city, is a No-Fly zone. However, with the permission of a property owner, one can fly within the boundaries of his property. Standard rules apply, such as avoiding invasion of privacy to the neighbours. But it is a useful loophole to get shots such as this.  You just need to find a friendly property owner willing to allow flights, everywhere you go

I prefer the first one - brings more detail in the shot.

I agree - and it was used in a publicity event at the museum (Non-profit organisation)

Good for you mate - I fine myself flying lower these days. The whole 400' thing has it's benefits but I find better compositions at around 200'.

A great deal of France is restricted to 50 metres, and quite a bit to 30 metres, but out in open countryside you can go to 150 metres. Which is great on clear days for views to the horizon. But like you I prefer the detail you get nearer to the ground.

Tilt the camera up upon landing and take a shot then too - offers some great perspectives from below what a hand held camera can take too

Ah. Worm's eye view. It would give an interesting angle -have to avoid getting the props in the shot though.

No they don't. The have very sensitive skin that detects heat. You can cut one in half and the half with the head will survive and grow again. Interesting things

Sad to hear. It really makes your pilot life more difficult. Hopefully Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania have the rule - don't fly over crowds or over 50 meter above people or property.

Yes the rules are pretty general globally, and are just common-sense really. But it does mean that many ideal spots for aerial photography are out-of-bounds.
