We chose an elevated spot for our Sunday picnic, and afterward, at siesta time, there were a few moments to admire the view before dozing off to the sound of insects and birds. No industrial noise of any kind.  Peace!

Nice capture mate

Thanks AJ. It was so peaceful up there, I just had to shatter it with the noise of the motors on the M2Z.

Hahahaha - I often think that. When I was in the peak district you could hear a pin drop and the MA2 sounded like a Phantom 4 Pro - quite unnerving

I prefer that both I and the drone pass undetected. The stealth approach. Maybe I missed my vocation - shoulda been a spy

Ghegheghe.
Stealth mode would be great on a Mavic

Of course, no detection is best for all.
But soon you will have to notify everybody you are about to fly close to.
Although 'soon' is not the best word with the EU

I think it will be very difficult to implement that requirement.  But who knows what other obstacles will be put in our way as time goes by.

It is actually very simple.
(from a law enforcement point of view)

Whenever you are 'maybe' going to fly close to a person that is not involved in your video, you have to notify him / her.
So in practice this would mean you have to let people know you are going to fly there.
But there are some grey areas I'm curious about.
What if you don't know you fly over somebody ?
What if the person is inside?
Etc. etc.

Interesting times ahead.

Just get a Mavic Mini and you don't have to care about those things

I've seen quite a few being flown - nothing beats the original Mavic Air for noise though - that thing was louder than my Inspire.

Hahaha - not quite but I remember being able to hear it 1,000 feet away and 400' up - other pilots at model aircraft fields that I fly at made a few comments. Not the most discreet of drones.

When the "Low Noise Props" were announced for the P4, I bought into it. Couldn't detect much difference in volume, just a slightly lower pitch to the whirring sound.  I still have a set of each for the P4 but I think it was all hype at the time.

The winglet props are designed to work with the upgraded ESC's - the difference with using just the blades on the old ESC's was minimal

Hahahaha - sinusoidal ESC's apparently - introduced with the Mavic Pro Platinum in 2017 and now they all have it.

Not worth upgrading the P4 now. I suppose the output on the old ESCs was more square-wave than sinusoidal? That would account for the "buzzier" noise output from the P4 motors.

Thats exactly what they are in the P4 and original P4P - the ESC's were upgraded in the P4P V2.0

It's academic now. I've had the P4S for such a long time now it's almost part of the furniture. I'm loath to pension it off.Especially as it flew a joint mission on Sunday for the update on the Viaduct construction.
