... but during the flight there are messages on the smartphone (top left, in orange letters) that the signal strength is low if the distance to the MM increases (maybe 300 m or so) ...
All 5 bars in the display (top right) remain white and the number of these bars does not decrease ...
DJI Fly App was 1.1.6, I haven't flown with 1.1.8 since then.

With the MA2, I know it in such a way that the number of bars (with a greater distance to the drone) gradually decreases and the color of these bars (I think from 3) changes to orange ...

Is this behavior of the MM normal? Have you already seen it that way?

Thanks for your advice.
Frank

White bars gps signal. Warning WiFi signal .

Hello hallmark007,

the white bars are labeled "RC"! That should point out the meaning, right ???

The GPS symbol changes its color automatically if only a few satellites are connected (white -> orange -> red)! It also shows the number of connected satellites above!

I don't know what your (short) answer should mean ...

Hi,

FlyApp = UpToDAte  ;-)

Hello JJB*,
this is exactly the behavior when I use the MA2. Thanks for the pictures...

But, when I use the MM, I always (!) see 5 white RC bars, regardless of how far the MM is from me. Always five bars.
But then there are (briefly) orange warning messages (top left) that the connection quality is poor (see my post #1 above). Is that the same with your MM? Do the RC bars no longer have any function on the MM?

I assume that your pictures were taken with the MA2, right? Can you please verify that at MM?

Thank you
Frank

There are about 4 discrete channels of transmission/reception used in a drone, so there is a possibility that one is working OK while others are having reception problems. There is transmission from the RC unit to the aircraft, return status feed from the aircraft to the RC, video feed from the aircraft to the RC, GPS reception. And none of these are WiFi, they just happen to be on the same frequency band as WiFi.

True, so this RC 5 bar indicator is rather useless....wich of the 4 or combination of 4 will turn it into amber and red.  GPS reception more important to know than video feed...

I don't know if there is a new instruction manual for the MM (mine is from 11/2019), but as for the WiFi symbol, they write:
