Have you ever wondered how to make these nice clickable indexes in you youtube video to give the viewer a bit of separation between your parts? This is especially handy for longer videos, since viewers might want to jump to a certain position that covers a subject they are interested in.

For the purpose of this (short) tutorial, I have taken a short video on my channel and added this index.
Look at the bottom part where you can see the 'chapters' (and you get a little title when you hover them).

Index01.JPG

This can be achieved by simply adding a index in the description. Make your time notation like so hh:mm:ss (skip the hh when you are below 1 h)
So a timecode of 1:15 is just typed like that.

Index02.JPG

Youtube will convert these timecodes to hyperlinks AND give this nice 'chapter' view in the bottom part of you video.

Simple trick, with only one huge drawback.
Now I have to start adding these to all my old longer video's ....

No, I passed on that one as had the Inspire back then before selling it and having my long break from the hobby. Then the MA2 came out so pulled the trigger on one of the fly more combos from the first batch in May - already flown nearly 100 flights with it now

I have seen a lot of them around the parks - seems like a cool little drone and ideal for beginners but why have cotton when you can have silk

Yeah, I get that.
One big reason might be if it does not need the new CE C1 approval and does have less restrictions for where it can fly.

At the moment you need to fly it in line with the UK CAA drone code here so whether you are flying a Matrice 300 RTK or a Mavic Mini for recreational purposes then you need to follow the same rules. The only advantage is that you don't need to a pass a test that a 7 year old could pass in 5 minutes and spend £9 on registering your drone. I have a pair of socks worth £9

It is the same for now here too, but whenever the new rules come into effect, there will be categories with various restrictions.
The < 250gr don't have that much restrictions.
Actually you can fly almost anywhere (not in NFZ of course).
So that does look appealing to me.
But the MM unfortunately is a huge step back when you come from an MP

TBH I have flown my MA2 in 16 different locations including national parks, country parks, Royal parks and town parks - flown it nearly 100 times on countless outings and covered millions of feet with it. I have never, not once, been approached by anyone to check my flyer and operator ID's and both rangers and police officers have driven, flown over or walked past me while flying. These new rules, when they eventually come out, won't impact me. There is no real difference between the current drone code and the open category of the new EASA rules that I can see. I can fly up to 400' AGL, up to 50m of people etc, 150m away from built up areas and 5KM from airports. I do all of that anyway.

<250 gram is allowed to fly over people (not groups)
So that opens up a whole new world of flying locations.

It's presently not illegal here to fly a small UAV over small groups of people as long as it is not intentional and over 50m / 165' above. With the MA2 being so quiet people don't even know. Obviously, hovering over people and causing a disturbance will not go down well. It's advisable not to fly over anyone but it is not illegal with a drone like a Mavic Air 2.

Yeah, the proposed new laws - I'm referring to the current UK CAA drone code. I'll still fly my MA2 as I do now. Looks like Mavic Mini's will need to be registered when this comes into effect too as C0-not a toy classification.

Aha indeed!

Yes, it has to. It has a camera.
That counts for 'need to register'.
But that is no issue for me.
Being able to fly over people and buildings is!

So I'm very curious how they will implement this as people are already complaining very often about drones flying over their gardens and stuff.
I strongly believe there will additional laws to prevent that from happening and that will mean we are back at where we are right now.

I think the main positive of the new rules is that you can fly commercially without taking the PfCO. I'll still fly over the odd dog walker - they won't know the EASA rules from the telephone book lol

For some type of video's it is handy.
I'm considering the benefit for the stuff that I post.

Yeah indeed.
But with a lot of my stuff, I'm just showing some location from the sky.
I don't think there is much use for an index.
Maybe with my train video's that are a bit longer.
