I used the waypoint submode for the hyperlapse so follows the altitude and direction that I preset - just testing it and looks like a great feature

Yeah, it certainly does.
Should give you very steady results that make awesome hyperlapses.
It is truly the most missed feature for me and my MP

You can preset up to 45 points now and record in 4K in addition to 1080p and 8K - though the time interval between captures in 8K is too long and looks too choppy. 4K seems to be the sweet spot.

If you can, try a low shutterspeed also to get a bit of motion blur.
You will need a ND filter (of course)

Too bad the MA2 does not have variable aperture.
That would make your life more easy.

Fixed aperture at f2.8 and fixed focus to infinity - I quite like the latter as no longer need to tap the screen or worry that the footage is mush when I get home but I do miss the variable aperture from the M2P and P4P but it's a trade off - I love the fact it's half the price too

I don't get the variable focus on the bigger mavics.
But that might just be me.
Variable aperture should be included on all drones if you ask me.
Too much hassle with ND filters for me.

Variable focus is simply annoying - so pleased that the MA2 doesn't have it.

Yeah. Plus it is (usually with drones at least) not very useful.

It came in handy when trying to create a kind of mock shallow focus to blur the background but for the majority of the time it was just one more thing to have to do that had little benefit when the drone is higher than 50' IMO.

Exactly.
Maybe they should get the best of both worlds : get a focus preset that is fixed to infinity AND give the ability to do manual focus if you really want to.
