It actually wasn’t under Part 107 but under hobbyist guidelines. Under part 107, You have to have at least 3 SM visibility, which isn’t required of hobbyists.

Hi David J.
I want to start by saying I am not the drone police and am not looking for an argument however I do want to educate the public and you as flyers can make your own choices.

I do have my part 107 licence, and FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, and I have been wrong once, LOL,  under US law....Flying a drone over any person who is not participating in the operations is prohibited under both commercial and recreational drone flight rules. Take note that consent is not participating – a bystander may allow you to fly a drone over them, but this is still considered by the FAA as illegal. Thus, the only people you are allowed to fly over are your crew, including any assistant pilots or visual observers. That includes moving vehicles.  Again, I am not the Drone Police, everyone has their choice as to what and how they are going to use their drone.  I was not aware of some of the specifics before I took an extensive 80 hour class.
Happy flying, I really liked your drone and camera movements. Keep up the great work.

And my reference to staying within the rules...it was your shots of flying over the streets. as you did not show any shots flying over the moving cars.   Again very well shot.

I see you shot in the Portland area. Have you been to  Bruce Campbell's Boeing 727 site in the woods in Hillsboro? I want to make it down there sometime and get a drone shot, as he welcomes visitors and drones.
