I've been flying quite a lot since the quarantine started. And that is actually quite a lot since I currently live on the country with the largest quarantine on record. Argentina.
So here I present to you, the empty city. A sad video about a nearly empty Buenos Aires.
All shots recorded with both a mavic mini and a mavic air 2 (I wonder if you can distinguish which takes were made with which!)
This is the result of several days' worth of looking for decent (and safe!) fly spots in order to do the filming. Given the current situation in Argentina, you've got to be careful while in public places while carrying around $2000 worth of drones, your bike, and everything else. Robberies are quite the thing as of late.
So I decided to first go location hunting, then fly on selected locations with the Mini in order to assess the area and experiment with different shots, angles, settings, etc, then go home and select the best ones to be re-done with the Air2 in order to get the high-quality ones. Took me three entire weekends to do so. While there were other amazing places I would have liked to include in this video, I could not quite find a good spot to fly from, due to other constraints.
Yeah. I think this is a unique opportunity in order to record the state of our cities during the pandemics. Not once in my life I had seen Buenos Aires, (which is a 15 million inhabitants city if we consider its conurbation), which moves several millions a day during the week from the outskirts towards its centre, as it is a highly centralized city.
