At first I thought it was a gimmick feature. But the more I use it, the more I saw it's value.  Everytime you stop using the gimbal and use your phone, you can opt not to remove the bracket, and the magnet will allow easy mounting again. This will avoid recentering your phone over and over again on the gimbal. It's very handy!
