Does anyone know how to rename the osmo action to a more friendly name?

Hi. Thank you for reaching out to DJI Forum. With regards to this matter. I am sorry to say that it is not possible to change the camera name. Thank you.

I see that this is a somewhat old question. But for those visiting (like myself), it is now possible to change the Device Name.

• Open the DJI Mimo app
• Connect with your DJI Action Cam, wait until the camera-view appears
• Click on the home-button
• On the bottom, click on your Profile icon
• On the top-right, click on the cog-wheel (Hexagon shape)
• Click on Device Management
• Select your device you are connected with. (The connected one has a green dot)
• Here you can edit your Device Name.
   Hit return when you're done.
   The camera will disconnect
• Go back to the home-screen, and re-connect
• You're not quite done, yet!

Lastly, take a little time to admire the new name of your camera.
Make it a thing, light some candles, play some soft music, and pat the camera on the back.
Now, start filming!
