Hello, I am trying to connect my P4A and RC to the DJI assistant on my PC to check the firmware status. When I connect them using the USB port, it doesn't read any of those. I have used the latest DJI assistant and DJI assistant for phantom. The former says to get appropriate software and the second one doesn't show any message.
I was able to fly comfortably without checking the firmware on my PC since it didn't prompt me on my DJI go app on my mobile. However, It would be nice to connect to the laptop and check the status. Any help regarding this is appreciated.

Better if you disable Antivirus in your Pc , make sure Dji assistant is allowed on Firewalls
Use the correct Usb Cable

Hello Sam,
I used the same download link and the process explained on the video however, I couldn't connect it. Regarding the firewall, I did allow the DJI Assis to work on different networks. Cable- I tried to connect with the other DJI assistant and it did mention that I need to download the correct software so I assume the cable is working fine.

Do you know of any other checks/solution?

maybe the problem is the Operating system you are Using , maybe windows 7 ?

I am on Windows 10. When it was windows 7, I believe it worked (1.5 years ago), connected the same drone to the same laptop

I use windows 10 and Dji assistant must be allowed on firewall

Sure, I will follow your advice. Allowing on the firewall is part of the installation process, right? Or is there any other special action need to be taken?
