Yes, you may Zoom in with your Phantom, just by the act of moving it up closer to your subject.
Trial and error... It seems too simple, but it takes plenty of practice, to do it with a slow approach.
Practice with your subject closer to you, and get used to how objects appear larger on the screen.
With time, you will learn, to automatically know your relative distance or nearness to your target.
I love my Nikkor zoom lenses, and don't know, where my photography would be without them.
But with my Phantom, "Practice makes perfect", my music teacher always instilled this, in his students...
