i've had to re-link (pair?) over and over again
i start up the drone and i am prompted to select my drone and press the link button on the drone
over and over again
probably over a couple dozen times over the last couple days
i use my drone to earn my living
i just updated to the latest firmware last weekend (early october)i'm curious if anybody else has seen this??
we're gonna need a hotfix for this because its a major pain in the tail....  : /

Go to settings and aircraft management select the drone there. You should not have to re pair.

I got my drone profile in aircraft managment like Visual Air mentioned in 2#.  Am using the latest firmware for the M2P as well on the SC. I didn't have the connection problem you experiencing.

Nope, no “hot fix” needed here - latest firmware works perfectly

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. i restart the SC, i have to re-pair with the M2Pro
YES --- we need a hotfix
this latest firmware broke the pairing/linking
this is totally repeatable and reproducible

When you first power on your Smart Controller bottom left of the screen the box that States connect. Is that how you are selecting the quad?

negative ---- when i turn it on, there's the "connect" screen - when you click "connect" you see a dark screen where you select the model of drone you have
i click M2Pro and it starts beeping - it beeps until you click the pair button on the drone (starboard side - pull open the access panel)
once clicked, the nickname i gave the drone appears and you proceed normally
happens EVERY TIME the smart controller is powered off

Have you gone into settings / aircraft management and set it to your specific model?

Hi, I had upgraded my smart controller to the latest version, but I was having problems with signal loss at a short distance. I downgraded to the previous stable version with dji assistant 2, now it works fine for me and the mavic 2 zoom. Good luck

Try to reinstall the latest firmware using a pc and the DJI Assistent 2 program.

also save your settings, afer reconnecting to your drone, in the settings / aircraft (make a profile) like InvisibleName7 suggested in 8#

Most of us don't experience your problem, so it is specific to your system, not a general fault. If those steps above don't help, I suggest you contact DJI support about it.

Yes you have to go into settings and then aircraft management and select the drone there. then you do not have to re pair.

Don't click on the Connect button.  Just go to Apps screen and run DJI Fly.  Worked for me.

Don't click on the Connect button.  Just go to Apps screen and run DJI Fly.  Worked for me.

i just turned the drone and SC off then on - good
then left the drone on and cycled the SC - good
then repeated just to make sure i wasn't just getting lucky ----- goodgood

I'm glad I found this post.
I recently bought the Mini 2 Smart controller Combo and was having the same issue with my Mini 2 and Mavic 2 Zoom.
All good now but it makes you wonder why DJI didn't make this clear. Their own directions on the controller say nothing about going into Settings to select your drone.
I also often get a warning saying the drone does not support DJI Go 4 and I haven't selected an app.

I was having the same issue. Now it's fixed thanks to the tips above.
