Remote controller connectionn error AGAIN!

Hi all,

Hope someone can help or has had the misfortune of having the same issues. Mavic 2 pro and it has been a nightmare of recent. Havent been able to fly at all just disconnects every single damn time. Had a strange issue on holiday where it wouldn't allow me to fly above 30metres then would occasionally disconnect. Now I can't fly at all without it saying @REMOTE CONTROLLER CONNECTION ERROR@ going into major slow mo and black and white screen and cannot take photo or video of course. I get paid for drone work..... I have a job in 4 damn days!! HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!

May we know what is the model of the mobile device you are using please and can you please try to relink the said remote controller to your DJI Mavic 2 Pro for us to be able to isolate the said issue? You've probably done this already, but have you tried another cable and maybe use the bottom port.

I experienced similar issues with my drone:

I noticed by chance that the cable was coming out during flights from the mobile phone. So I make sure it's plugged in as deep as possible and try not to move the phone during flight (i.e. slide it close or away from the controller).

I also noticed the cable doesn't like to be crushed. It sounds lame, but I noticed that after I plugged in the phone and slid it upwards to close the gap with the remote, the cable would form a tight U shape and I later had in-flight issues. I now stretch the cable every time to avoid this and no longer have connection issues.

As others mentioned, buying a new cable may resolve these. I'm still on the original cable.

Thanks a lot man. Yeah i dont think my cable is being crushed..... bought  a new one £15 inc postage. Same issue still happening!! Gutted!

Ok, so took 5 attempts, then it linked. For the past 3 minutes its sat here and hasn't disconnected. It has had moments of clarity like this before when reinstalling app or updating it again is assistant 2 but we shall see. I will try and give her a proper test tomorrow and see what happens,. Only other option after this is send it back to DJI sadly

You advised that your altitude was restricted to 30m. That can very much be caused by flying in a restricted zone.

No but its insured and also still under warranty.... I have one last fix and thats using the usb on the bottom of controller to try in a minute!!!

That sounds like a faulty connection with the micro USB port on the RC. May be worth sending the RC back for replacement.

The connection to the USB port should not cause the RC disconnection, just the connection to the phone, and it will also not limit your flight height like you mentioned above unless as AJ mentioned the pins in the side port could have been causing a short on the RC which might also affect your charging ability then

The 30m limitation could be explained if the ''Beginner Mode'' was accidentaly enabled or if the settings were reset after a FW update. That doesn't explain the connection problems of course.

FWIW When I first got my M2P it was defective from the start. Camera was broken. Although this was pre-Covid I got mine back within three weeks. Post covid? YMMV. Be aware that you may not get back "your drone".  They sent me a refurbished unit that I had to replace labels and reregister.

Ah, The side connector has a square receptacle it is easily damaged if you try and plug a micro usb normal cable into it the wrong way. I think the connector in the RC is damaged.
