Ok, so this was way cooler than I anticipated. I've been flying acrobatic FPV quadcopters for 3+ years and just recently switched 3 of my favorite quads over to the DJI FPV system to experience the digital video. This has been great and made flying so much more fun. I wanted to get a video drone that I could use for photos and videos and also hover at my flying field so I could get some video flybys and stunt footage so I picked up the Mini.
Well, I just flew my first battery pack and the experience was great. It is interesting having the machine do most of the work like stable hovers. I discovered that this will be a great way to learn to fly LOS - something I've struggled doing with my performance quads.
So after a few around the yard fly bys I explored some of the QuickShots. Here is a circle QuickShot of a small maple in my yard.
It is! I've flown 6 battery packs now and had a blast. I'm able to land on a 12" disk with no problem and LOS flying is becoming confident. I ordered a mount to use my iPad Pro as a display, that should be interesting.
You'll love using your ipad it will be a whole different experience for you. I use a 10" ipad and it makes flying much better specially with my old eyes.
Hello there SublimeQuad. Thank you for reaching out and for posting this cool video you have filmed using your DJI Mavic Mini. Cool work and keep on flying. .
