A drone LOL - he'd need to redeem 5,400 points every single month for a whole YEAR to get about half the price of a mavic mini base package and if the points were not spent within that year they would be lost.

Let him work it out the hard way mate. Bottom line - it is impossible to buy a new DJI drone with just credits from the forum. At best you'll get a nice discount on the cheapest model (base kit Mini) and a modest discount on the more expensive packages (MA2 fly more combo etc) but you'll still needs hundreds of bucks to put towards both.
