The Ronin-S gimbal can control the Lumix GH4 using the bellow cable that plugs into it via a 2.5mm minijack with 3 rings :



Because of balancing needs of my rig, this minijack can't fit between the camera and the tilt arm of the gimbal, unless I find a "bent" adapter from the camera to the DJI cable. I'm thinking of an adapter in this style :


But as you can see, this is just a regular stereo adapter with 2 rings.
Here is the question :
Would the connection work if I find any 3 rings adapter in this style or is it a really specifically DJI/GH4 custom system which won't work even with a 3 ring adapter ?
