Yeah, that's what I was suspecting ... See, this is nothing better nor different than cropping the top and bottom portions of a standard 4K (3840 x 2160) frame in post, which will give you the same wide aspect ratio. The attachment may produce this desired anamorphic look and appeal, but at the expense of image resolution (quality). If you'll be able to utilize all real estate of the sensor, capturing pinched 3840 x 2160 video and de-squeezing in post to - say - 5107 x 2160 video frame size ... oh yes, that'll be the real McCoy! But, if you like what you see, that's all what counts ...
No, it's not like cropping the top and bottom of the screen. You will get the wider field of view without the distortion of the wide angle lens. The anamorphics' len squeezed the image onto the standard sensor, hence, you will have to desqueeze the image in post. the 3840 is the 4K video and the 1440 will desqueeze the image into anamorphics form. |
