Hello to all --- Im curious about battery storage during long term ( a few months ) bad weather when I cant fly.
Can I just let the batteries for my MA2 discharge completely until I can fly again or, do I have to perodically charge them so they never go completly dead ?
Thanks for any input.

Best to keep them around 50% and check them every couple of weeks.  But you should still be able to fly during the winter in the UK.

Thanks for that info DAFlys, I will do just that.  Im just worried about when it drops to  0*c  or a few degrees lower. I would think that windchill at or below 0 might be too cold for the motors when flying at or around 20mph. Not sure though, just being cautious.
Cheers

Youre good to fly down to -10c.  If you keep the battery warmer before you start people have flown in lower temps than that.

Store them at room temperature and fully recharge them to 100% then let them auto discharge to 60% if not being flown at least once every three months - don't just leave them for months on end or you may find that they won't recharge

I usually just keep them in my pockets to keep a bit of warmth in them.  same as I would do with my spare camera batteries,  although the canon lipos I use have been fantastic in the cold.

1.If you do not use the battery for more than 10 days, please discharge the battery to 40-65% of its capacity for storage to prolong its service life.
2.Do not store the battery for a long time after it has been completely discharged, to avoid the battery entering into an over-discharge state, which may damage the battery cell and make it unusable.
3.If you need to store the battery for a long time, you should take it out of the aircraft.

Same here mate - saves having to hover for minutes before flying out
