Hi all!

I'm very new to this so please be patient. For my first flight i tried to get an idea of the distance range for the Mavic Mini, and i quickly realized i couldn't go further than 200-250m before it lost connection. I have the FCC model and its on 5.8gHz. I tried connecting with WiFi and without it, the propeller guards are not on, the antennae are flat side facing and angled, the battery is full and my firmware is up to date. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get better reception?

Were there any objects between the drone and remote such as trees, buildings etc and was the remote facing the direction of the drone and the antenna kept perpendicular to the drone? Were you near a built up area too? The range of the MM in FCC is 4KM

What height were you at,  usually going a bit higher increased the unobstructed line of sight to the drone.

Yes I live in a normal residential neighborhood with trees and powerlines. Is the range only in clear 2.4km wide fields?

Needs to be an unobstructed environment in terms of nothing physical between the AC and RC

I took it to the dog park away from trees and buildings and was able to get it up to 1km before the connection dropped.

Big improvement on before but still very short. Were you near any interference

Nope. Wide open field about a block long.

WiFi only transmissions are very temperamental. Make sure you have WiFi and bluetooth turned off on your phone and follow the instruction in post 4 whilst keeping a clear LOS. If you get 1KM or 4KM will depend on interference with that drone. The Mini isn't really designed to be flown miles away from your position.

That should usually be plenty high enough.

Hey I face the same problem but when you fly your drone in an open space it will fly more than 250m I have the experience with me try it.
