At the very end of the Gleniff Horseshoe Valley, the road leads you around a stunning amphitheatre cliff base formed during the last ice age. As you continue the road passes these cliffs of Annacoona where small mine entrances are visible high up on the face.
Up on these cliffs behind this old school house ruin you can see what according to the legend, is the cave where legendary Diarmuid and Grainne spent their night together whilst fleeing from the raged Fionn. This is actually Ireland’s highest cave!
Yes it’s very close to what’s known as Yeats Country, it’s rumored William Butler Yeats wrote much of his work on this mountain, he’s buried very close to here.
There was once a thriving community here all gone now.

Must have been inspirational, having all that on their doorstep.

You're welcome mate - hope you and the family are safe over there mate - saw on the news your PM has gone into a major lockdown. When will it end?!
Don’t know, but from tomorrow night next 6 weeks almost full shut down. The crazy thing about this is I think it’s probably going to be like this on and off for another year. I’m one of the lucky ones I live in a nice quiet place, plenty of places to go out walking or even flying if I get the weather. But very strange times indeed.

Good to know all are well. I'm also lucky to live in walking distance of a green belt - it's the people cooped up in the cities that I really feel sorry for. The positive for us drone flyers is there tends to be less people out and about which makes flying less awkward. I think you're right - this virus isn't going anywhere soon I'm sorry to say. It's getting worse.
