I am getting jerky panning with my Mavic 2 Pro. It happens with vertical and horizontal panning but horizontal is the worst. The camera is set at 4K 30fps. The original footage from the camera plays fairly smoothly with just a little minor jerkiness at times, but the post edit and rendered footage is very bad.

I am using Premiere Elements and the output settings are 3840 x 2160, H.264, 25 fps, 50Mbps.

I tried upping the bitrate to 100Mbps but this causes buffering when playing from PC to TV via my LAN.

Can anyone suggest what is going wrong? It is clearly a common problem as I also see this very often on viewers videos shown on TV.

Hi!
You might be better off posting your question in the 'products' section of this forum.
That is way more active.

Hi, I dont have a solution although others here have experienced the same issue, e.g.

https://forum.dji.com/thread-8041-1-1.html

I do know 4k uses lots of graphics processing power and could be down to the video rendering software used as seems to be a common thread having done a quick internet search.

Hope you find the answer!

Thanks for the link which was very interesting. Like others have said, i have started questioning if 4K is worth the hassle. My PC is an i7 with 32gb ram, so it should be capable. I still get the choppy video on my 4K TV so i suspect the problem appears with rendering. I have already cut the export from 100mbs to 50. Maybe i shall also change back to 1080p.

Yes I'd agree your PC should be capable. You didn't say if you have a graphics card as perhaps on-board graphics driver may not be able to cope since as processing power is shared.

Interestingly when I was watching an Amazon Prime series called "James May in Japan", shot in 4k I believe, the playback in 1980P was glitchy on bit TV and projector. Didn't see that with Grand Tour also shot in 4k.

It is onboard graphics but the graphics is not used for rendering post editing. The video is choppy on the TV which should handle it as it does with 4K DVD and YouTube.
