I can run the simulator and get to the point where you start the propellers.  With the remote controller connected to the computer, the controller window displays the Battery charge level and that's it!  Moving the joysticks in and down has no effect on starting the propellers.  I've had the drone for about a year and a half but just now getting around to trying to fly it.
