Good Morning,

It is necessary for us to create a map of a site before we do a flight for IR analysis. DJI says that the Zenmuse H20T is not a mapping camera (funny the salesman didnt mention that rather stating it was good for all). Has anyone had success with mapping an area, such as a solar array, with this camera? We have tried all we can think of with settings and still do not get consistent results.

You need to program a custom camera for each lens so that when you do a mission it sets the correct overlap required at the desired height. I have done some mapping with it with success. I followed this guide to create the custom cameras.

H20 camera settings

H20 Wide Camera (1/2.3” CMOS):
Photo Size Width: 4056
Photo Size Height: 3040
Sensor Size Width: 6.16mm
Sensor Size Height: 4.62mm
Focal Length: 4.5mm
Min interval: 2.5 seconds

H20 Zoom Camera:
Photo Size Width: 5184
Photo Size Height: 3888
Sensor Size Width: 5.82mm
Sensor Size Height: 7.76mm
Focal Length: 10.34mm (if set to 2X zoom in the app which is 2X the H20 Wide camera)
Min interval: 2.5 seconds

H20 Thermal Camera (1/1.7” CMOS):
Photo Size Width: 640
Photo Size Height: 512
Sensor Size Width: 7.68mm
Sensor Size Height: 6.144mm
Focal Length: 13.5mm
Min interval: 2.5 seconds

Scratch all this now, the WIDE and THERMAL for the H20T and I am guessing the WIDE for the H20 has now been added to the camera selection.

I tried the wide (selected in the Pilot App) for a mapping mission and this was the result (the street is as flat as can be, but not so in this image

H20 camera settings

I just tried this and after setting up the custom camera, i see a yellow warning: "Incompatible with current device" , just curious if it still works with the error or not, because the weather here is bad for the next week and I cant test it myself.

Not sure, since getting the P1 years ago I haven't used the H20T for mapping RGB.
