Absolutely, this is a Bulgarian traditional custom, celebrated throughout Bulgaria on January 7, every year. There are many videos in YouTube. Check this, on of my friend what captured.

Everyone can jump to catch the cross of Crist, everything is for health and luck. I jump too 2015/2016/2017/2018 year, the temperature of the water was -10 Celsius and more. We must broke the ice with arms and legs, and we swiming only with pants.
