There are some youtubers uploaded original file taken with Pocket 2.
And I have been play around with files taken in low light.

Beside bigger sensor and brighter lens, it seems one of the big benefit is a high resolution sensor.
Pocket 2 is using 64MP sensor to take 16MP video and binning it into 8.3MP 4K video.

One of the visible benefit of this high resolution is much smaller ISO noise grain.
It almost feels like the grain is 1/4 smaller than Pocket 1.
(I'm not sure if it is the 16MP processing or 64MP whole sensor that makes this grain small but it works very well.)

Pocket 2's ISO 6400 image is much more detailed and cleaner than Pocket 1's ISO 3200 image.
I used to not using ISO 3200 of Pocket 1 because of the noise.
But I would use Pocket 2's ISO 6400 image. It is as clean as in between Pocket 1's ISO 800 and ISO 1600 image.

When I try color grade it and lift the shadow area, it really brightens up and maintained whole a lot of detail.
(Although it wasn't the D-Cinelike...)

Quite the different level from the Pocket 1.

On top of the smaller noise grain, Brighter lens and bigger sensor definatly takes much brighter shot than Pocket 1,
and even some night shots were over exposed.

Because I didn't take those shots myself, I cannot accuratly compare it with Pocket 1 but it certainly gave me a high expectation.
I am excitly waiting to receive my Pocket 2.

Hi Tide.
If the files were downloadable from the internet, would it be possible to provide a link for the rest of us to try out?
Thanks.
Ray.

Definitely looks an improvement noise wise Tide but will still reserve judgement due to not really knowing his local light level he shot in. I would definitely still be using a tripod for stills though.

I'm aware that's a far reach, but i've some of the timelapses at night i've done with the osmo pocket surprised me - so curious on how the Pocket 2 would pick up on stars

That sounds like some view.
Where I live doesn't give any chance to see stars. Has to drive 3hrs away to specific spots for some chace.

Inspiration for next shoot out.

Seems to be a great upgrade in low light performance. For me in video mode 3200 iso on P2 looks less noisy than 1600 on OP. In fact the 1600 noise was so anoying that I never go above 800 in OP.
