...occusync is not as effective as it seems...

Mini2 is a MARKETING GADGET.

I replaced my mini 1 to a mini 2 and my occusync is working just fine and it is as good as my M2pro.

...in field/terrain examples...?

Agree, it's probably better, but for such an upgrade...can us Mini "1" owners justify cost?

It’s a night and day difference.  I have to remind myself at times that I’m flying the mini since it performs so well.  I fly it more than my M2pro now.   You won’t regret it, if you are buying the mini2 keep your mini1 batteries.

No, while it has some nice features that I'd like, especially RAW photos, if I do get another drone it will be a bigger upgrade, like the Air 2.

Acquired the Mini 2 and tested it today for the first time.
Flying it feels more safe, less risky, reliable and with far less warnings than Mavic Mini.
Communications were great even when flying nearby ships with their radar on.
The video quality is great and the zoom feature is outstanding.
Also noticed the lower noise of the propellers and the increased power of the newer engines.

In my opinion, DJI made great improvements in Mini 2 comparing to the Mini.

I did get a mini 2 to replace the mini 1 and I am not too happy cause the new mini 2 has IMU issues. If it doesn't get resolved well by DJI I would be a very annoyed customer.

Bought a Mini 2 and kept Mini 1.  Two is better then one.  Having two is also better then one.

I said no.  I bought the Mini two or three months ago and the arrival of the Mini 2 almost immediately after and for just a few bucks more completely blindsided me.  The fact the Mini 2 has RAW capability, Lightbridge and several other significant improvements for such a small incremental price is really annoying.  I can't afford to upgrade so soon and if I do get another drone in a year or two, it will be something with further capabilities than the Mini 2.  The existence of the Mini 2 also presumably means there will be no future updates to the Mini.  Disappointing!

Nope.  The Mini 2 wasn't enough of an upgrade for me.  I bought a Mavic Air 2 and glad I did.  Active Track and OA are great.  It was windy today and I flew it without problems.  The Mini 2 would have been carried away never to be seen again.

You will be surprise how capable the mini 2 is and if you wanted to upgrade you should have went with the Mavic pro series.

Keeping the mini while waiting for Mavic 3 to launch and weight my options of either getting MA2 or M3, that is IF DJI offers care refresh in my country.

Nope, the Pro/Pro Platinum are too expensive for being so ancient.  If they were discounted more I would have considered one because it is a great drone.  But the MA2 beats it in many ways.

The Mavic 2 Pro was a consideration for me.   But it's even more expensive and getting long in the tooth.  DJI will probably come out with the Mavic 3 series or replacement within a year.

Other than missing waypoints, the MA2 is perfect upgrade for me.

My bad, I was referring to the Mavic 2 pro series.  I have had mine since the day it came out and from flying my friends Mavic air 2 it is no comparison to the M2pro/zoom series.  Now with the Mini 2 it is almost comparable to the Mav air 2 in flying wise.  If they ever come out with a Mavic 3 I will most likely pick that one up as well.  As you notice the only one I didn't purchase was the air2.  Happy flying and stay safe.

Totally agree, although at first voted to keep the Mini.

Nope... because the new one it isn't a Mavic Mini... it's just a Mini

And I love challenges... now I need to tweak the remote into FCC (permanently).

I’m strongly thinking about getting the M2. What’s holding me back is within 6 months of getting the MM the M2 came out, that hurts. I’m afraid if I get the M2 shortest after getting it obstacles avoidance at least on the front will be on a M3. That would kinda tick me off. If they were to do that it would be nice for them to make it an option to upgrade with breaking he bank. I can’t afford to keep buying them. It’s almost like a bait and switch. I understand that’s not happening. So I don’t know if I should make the upgrade. But probably will. I’m liking the idea that I can see my flag flapping in the wind and will be able to fly with the Level 5.

dji is never going to convince anyone if and how they will comply.  you'll be waiting forever.  just like you're waiting for dji to declare compatibility with the goggles.
eta:  wanted to add that dji simply won't know for sure what it will take to comply because the regulations are so complex and difficult to understand fully.  nobody can predict how they plan to comply over the years.  dji would be foolish to commit to anything publically so soon.

If you decide to purchase save $20 and get 3.5% off going through Rakuten and Drone nerds, I love Drone Nerds very responsive and knowledgeable. If you have not tried Rakuten then use my referral link to Get $20 back and 3.5% off the purchase through drone nerds by using the done nerds link from Rakuten. Rakuten is not always the cheapest but in this case it saved me money for sure. Plus I didn't have to pay sales tax for my purchase of the drone.
