Taken today with the Mavic Air

Some have a threatening sky, and others look a bit calmer and brighter.  A mixed bag of weather, just like up here. Freezing temperatures forecast for tonight, but bright tomorrow.

It's like an unusual bright but grey sky

Just a brief rain shower but the winds picked up and that area is quite open so headed back to the car and drove to another area

Is the weather unpredictable there like this side. 1 minute sunny, then rain then wind. have to carry jacket every where you go

Very much so mate - I had to land twice yesterday to let a rain shower pass then put an ND16 on as the sun was so bright literally five minutes later. 3MPH winds tomorrow, 60MPH winds off the south coast yesterday. Typical summer to winter transition here. Dark by 5PM. Next will be sub zero temps and night fall by 3PM...

It can still be light at 10PM in June but on the darkest days of the winter it can be pitch black by mid afternoon. The shortest day is typically around Christmas - sunrise around 8AM and starts setting before 4PM - though on a typically grey and miserable winters day it gets darker sooner. I've seen street lights turn on before 3pm

Usually you just head to the county pubs with the open log fires and Sunday roasts etc - it's a way of life. But in these times of Covid-19 and everything locked down - yep - it's not going to be the best!

Thanks Daf - it's an awesome park to fly at as also adjacent to a number of fields and massive farm lands, lakes, quarries etc

I'm very hesitant too - always keep it under 300' AGL and no further than half a mile.

I like to use UAV Forecast as you can set the altitude and it knows the wind at that height.

Yeah, I have that app - it also shows the KP index, wind direction, visibility etc - great app
