Cool. Is that somewhere just north of Oceanside? I'm guessing that is I-5 on the right.

Nope, that's Rincon Beach next to Highway 1 (PCH) and the 101.

For anyone who wants to drive Pacific Coast Highway someday, I strongly suggest starting in the north and going south so you are on the ocean side. Not only will your view not be obstructed by traffic going the other way, you also won't be looking into the sun at sunset.

Start at the Golden Gate Bridge (or even further north) and go south to Santa Monica. Things get less scenic there until you're past Los Angeles and the surrounding cities, but there are still some beautiful stretches between Orange County and San Diego. Depending on where you start the trip, plan to spend a week to ten days driving and stopping to enjoy the views and landmarks.

What is the location of the picture?  If I had to guess it is from north of Santa Barbara or just south of Salinas.
