I've had horrible experiences ordering from DJI both for my mavic pro and the mini. Both said they would ship immediately and both took weeks to ship - so the question is - do I wait for bestbuy to have it on their site and order from them, or risk (again) DJI saying it ships within one day?

It’s on BestBuy. I just ordered one and can pick up tomorrow or have it shipped free with Friday delivery.

I see it on the US site. It's now shown up on the Canadian best buy (I'm in Canada) but no store pickup option and earliest delivery is Nov 12th.

Might as well take the plunge mate

Exactly what I did with both of my MA2's

If you are in a hurry in store will surely be the best and in addition the advantage of the store is that if there is a concern you have a real person in front of you to hit if it does not solve your problem

I'd wait until it is available to buy in person from a local authorised DJI dealer - that way if there is anything wrong or missing out the box you can return it the same day and exchange rather than post it to a service centre which takes weeks. The only downside is that it may take longer to get hold of one - that's the risk you take but distribution has massively improved these days so the wait won't be too long if the MA2 is anything to go by.

Same here. Comes in very handy with bigger purchases. I got the FMC reduced from £949 to £892 and the base kit from £769 to £723

Yeah I know - but I sold two batteries (from the 5) and the RC so that also reduced the cost. And it's great having two chargers now plus a brand new drone and RC - though not crashing and losing over £400 would have indeed been better Could have been worse - at least it wasn't a brand new Inspire

I dont think I would be allowed to replace an Inspre if I crashed it,  she'd probably kill me.

My wife would have gone insane! She was pleasantly very supportive with replacing the MA2 and even got me that discount! I was very close to packing it all in due to how stupid the mistake was. I'm more cautious now so perhaps I need that one crash to keep my wits in order.

Well I pulled the trigger with DJI and have received my DHL express tracking number. Not sure how long it takes from China but with express hopefully not long!

If I bought it and it was rubbish after the first flight or had a clear fault out the box I will return it but no, I wouldn't try to get a refund on a perfectly good drone.

Make sure it'd compatible with your phone. My phone is compatible with Mavic Mini but for some ludicrous reason it's not compatible with the newer Mini 2...would love to hear from a DJI engineer and explain why they would make a newer model LESS compatible...end result was I had to pay $82.50 to BestBuy for re-stocking fee!!! Ridiculous way to do business
