Yes it will. Whatever occusyn 2.0 is compartible

It makes no sense to get the Mini 2 if you have a 2 Pro unless you are going to be flying indoors.

for photo & video quality, stability, ... you are completely right.

But as you say ... indoor and also to be less striking in some cercomstances and some countries have other regulations for drones lighter than 250g.

It should be given the Air 2 is compatible

That is why I asume it is compatible, but didn't saw an official announcement it is.

It might not be a selling argument, because the SC cost more than the DJI Mini2. But for those who are flying a M2P, M2Z or a M2A with it, it could be nice the Mini2 could be flown with it.

thank you for your reply. Because I didn't find it in the specs, I was doubting, althou some people assumed it because it has Occusync 2.0 like the M2A and even the same kind of controller.
Are you aware of any plans to make the SC compatible with the Mini2 in the future?

It only just released, I'd say wait a little bit but given the fact it's no longer using wifi but occusync it's just a matter of them updating the googles for support of the mini2.

The MA2 was released in April and took until September to be compatible with the SC. Given the Mini 2 also uses OcuSync 2.0 I'd say it will be via a FW update, if not immediately out of the box.

I fly my M2P indoors, no issues there.  Great for 360 pano of rooms.

It's a 28mm FOV so indoors it shouldn't be better than the 24mm M2Z if HDR isn't an issue.  An ideal drone DJI could do is release a 12-24mm zoom drone at 1" for indoor flight with a less distance OA system that scales tolerances according to speed or user settings.

Regulations are the main factor to get a MM2 if you ask me!

The Air 2 was announced that it would be supported by the SmartController at launch from memory.

You comments would indicate that it will never be compatible.

Can you please check and confirm rather than point us at a launch video?

Thanks for that. So we need to wait for SC support of 1.2.0.

Then they may / make support available for the Mini 2. Great.

It took 4 months for the Air 2. I guess even longer for the Mini 2.

I wish they would get their act together.

It does seem that way - not even the app version is ready for the SC by the look of it. Yeah, I think it will be months rather than weeks. You'd think they would get this ready from the outset and advertise the SC as an optional extra with the drone from day 1 - the amount of SC sales they must have lost with the MA2 over the summer would have been eye watering - looks like they missed a trick with the Mini 2 / SC too

Biggest problem when flying it in doors is the dust and animal hair it throws around.

Actually not entirely.  The skills learned while doing the hobbies can convert into jobs in the future as well as live saving methods that may sometimes be only used Once in a lifetime but if it didn't exist the person or persons would die or remain crippled for life but if Heaven was made from having no prior skills and no prior hobby available from an event that unfolded unexpectedly then it was great the stuff generated from hobbies didn't exist.

Ha ha, now that is dangerous. When flying close to the ceiling it creates a vortex that pulls it up against the ceiling. My wife hands me the paint tin and a brush every time I do that.

I have prop guards that cover the top so that isn't an issue.  That ruins battery life of course but I never fly indoors w/o it.

Makes a lot of sense, flying the Air 2 or Pro 2 in tight spaces is often unmanageable in tripod mode due to the side sensors. The mini 2 has no side sensors, I am looking forward to taking my mini 2 into my creeks and storm drain outfalls. I would much rather risk my mini in tight places than my air 2....

The Air 2 didn't work with the smart controller - at first...

The Goggles are NOT compatible with the Air 2, STILL...   

So 'how's that work again' ???

I don't think that is an 'automatic' compatibility marker...

If and when the Mini 2 is supported by my Smart Controller, and hopefully the Goggles RE, I would buy. Just to add a spare to my M2!

It's time to have the Mini2 work with the Smart controller! I own an Air 2 and a Mini and would like to take both my units with me with one controller. I can only fly one at a time anyway.

With the latest firmware released a couple of days ago, now Mini 2 is supported.
