nah its too expensive,  if it had been a bit cheaper and EU classified then I might have picked one up.

The lack of CE mark would stop me buying unless it was like £100 or so.

You can still fly it in the A1 subcategory indefinitely anyway due to it's weight. Unlike the heavier drones which have a legacy transitional period to 01/01/23 in more restricted subcategories. May explain why DJI have released it now for the Christmas season as the EASA regs won't impact on it's longer term use - unlike the M3 which should have preceded the Mini 2 given the time line on the release of previous models + Chinese tariffs may change in the US soon too...

Surely it still needs to be categorised to allow that.

It'll be an A1 legacy drone indefinitely (or at least until the fines roll in from people crashing them into their next door neighbours house etc)
