I think it is expensive for an entry level drone.  But DJI is not catering to the toy market like the Tello.  The Mavic Mini 2 is a full fledged drone and is DJI's entry level drone but not what most would consider an entry level drone in the scope of the market.

It is a bit more expensive for what I paid for the Mini and it has crusial improvements. For my pocket both are expensive but they do a good job if you want decent photos an videos.
Now I quite regret that I bought the Mini in the first place (just before the lockdonw in UK). Due to Covid19 situation and an accident I had in June, I flew my Mini just couple of times seriously and some other times only for practise. If I knew I would wait for the Mini2, which in my view is a big improvement to Mini. :-). Now I will wait for the Air3 probably lol

Yes! But all DJI products are expensive and, as the saying goes, you get what you paid for! It'll be my $US500 little hiking buddy hehe. I notice the cost of the Flymore combo here in Oz land is almost $AUD1,000 - Ouch!

The Mini 2 is quite an impressive package and, I think, a drone for newbies and pros alike. Santa can't get here fast enough!

If the Mini 2 will be the entry level drone in DJI, then it is a a little bit expensive.

Please wait while we find out if the choice with the most votes can be declared the winner.

I think it's  a decent price point for getting into flying cameras.  If it were just a drone, you could do a mini whoop and fpv headset for nearly half the price.  But this is more about flying a camera than flying a drone I think.

Well, I received the Mini 2 today and did a few flights. It is well worth the extra 50 bucks.

I paid around 530 euros for mine. Not a fortune, but not cheap either. Anyway, almost half the price of Air 2 and with 80% of functions that i needed, and in a smaller package. So... not regretting the investment. Yet ) (i did not flew it yet, hope today i will have the chance)

In Portugal Mini 2 Combo costs 600€.
The Mini Combo costs 450€, as today.
To attract more people for the drone's hobby, and make it more popular, think that DJI has to produce an entry drone for about 250€-300€, maintaining characteristics and specifications similar to the Mini.
Not everybody needs 4k, Raw or 10 Km distance.
Have safe and nice flights!

The Mini 2 exceeds my price limit for throwing money away.
It seems that DJI has succumbed to the "more is better".  I'd like to see a GOOD entry level drone (with the features of the Mavic Mini) for about $250 US.  It would then make it on my Christmas list of presents for my brother-in-law.  The Tello is nice but extremely  limited.
It's like small trucks in the US.
For a new truck they combine a lot of features I never had on my first truck, all for significant cost but of limited use to me.
In 1990 I could get a basic Ford F150 for about $20K (after adjusting for inflation), now it's more like $30K.

But I suppose they had to do something to get the price up.

It's not an entry level drone. It has everything the bigger drones have pretty much just with a small weight. Entry level drones are cheap drones like Tello, not 4k drones...

A bit high priced for an entry level, but is it entry level? The added features put it in a sweet spot, back when I was looking for my first drone I was weighing between the MM & M Air 2. This is a low weight mid performance drone. Your $100- 200 dollar drones will blow away in the wind faster than the original mm.

I'd call the original Mavic Mini and an entry-level drone.

Within the DJI ecosystem - it is the entry level i.e. the cheapest drone DJI offer are the Mini's. It is far more advanced than other drones from other brands but in terms of the DJI line up - this is where it starts.

Yes, I guess within the DJI lineup you are correct. To me though entry level is a very low starting point so more things like Tello's and cheaper drones you find in toy shops.

Very much so but not within the brand. A BMW 1-Series is an entry level BMW but not a car a typical 17 year old will learn to drive in as not an entry level car just entry level to the brand but the brand is far from entry level in the car industry. The Mini 2 is the entry level DJI camera drone but not an entry level drone.

Ah, you hit the nail on the head. I flew mine for the first time today and the capability it presents is outstanding for the price.

What this means is that DJI no longer sell entry level drones. They are a manufacturer of advanced level drones

The Mini 1 was indeed entry level and it didn't survive more that 12 months, before DJI replaced it.

The UK price is £549 so 619 euros sounds about right.
Personally I would wait a bit before I buy. In Spring there will be some offers for sure

For me, though, the Mini is good enough. Then I need to upgrade my TV and computer.Unable to handle 2.7k, Only 1080p 60fps it is the maximum.

I think its for those who want a good, cinematic drone, but dont want a full fledged phantom or Mavic 2 Pro. Just my thoughts.

Its not “entry level” or “professional”, its one of its kind.
