An ideal drone DJI could do is release a 12-24mm zoom drone at 1" for indoor flight with a less distance OA system that scales tolerances according to speed or user settings.

I'd rather have a (small) 25-50 mm drone (the M2Z is too big for me in NL with the new regulations)

We need lighter drones to be able to get the certified.

I was talking about indoor.  24-48mm for the M2Z is ok but the sensor isn't as great as the M2P.

Exactly, I will not likely fly indoor.
That is what I have a camera for

wow, you guys can give us a 24mm option or lower? that would be awesome

A smooth digital zoom from the lowest mm to 35mm would also be awesome

But you can't always get higher elevation shots.  Only for what you can reach w/o a jib.

So far I never needed to get higher than arm's reach indoor.
I tried flying indoor twice,  but was super scared of hitting anything.
And besides that, there is no consumer drone out there that can beat a Full Frame sensor with a decent prime lens!

Well of course but you need at least a super expensive drone in the air to do it.  The M2 or P4 can do it, even a mini can produce images to rival a full-frame under certain situations that don't require High HDR.  As with anything, if you are relying on One thing to do everything then something won't work as good as something else and in certain extreme situations would result in death.

There is just one thing I can't do with my DSLR and that is fly around and take smooth footage.
(unless you either have a big big drone or some kind of airplane / chopper of course)
So that is when I start my drone.
Other than that, the DSLR can cover every need I have for photography / videography and I really like its output.
