Hi All,

I have just upgraded from the Mini to the Mini 2 mainly for Ocusync 2.0 whicj is a gmae changer for me.

Anyway, I ahve the original dome charging base and assumed it would work for the new Mini 2, but now find out it needs a different USB-C adaptor.

Does anyone know if you can purchase this seperatly?

Hi Ben, Mavic Mini's original charging base is not compatible with DJI Mini 2. The charging connector is not removable.
If needed the Charging Display case, you may check out this one, https://store.dji.com/ca/product/dji-charging-display-base, it is compatible with both DJI Mini 2 and Mavic Mini.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have the display base with the removable micro-USB connector (magnetic). Can I find only the connector (USB-C) anywhere? Seems like a total waste to buy an entire new base just for a connector; I'll already have to change out my entire Fly More combo if I switch to the Mini 2 so saving a few buckaroos won't hurt.

I haven't ordered mine yet but from what I gathered after this thread got traction it seems you can seemingly get any connector from any brand, as long as it has the 5 connector layout since this is power delivery only. It doesn't seem to be a proprietary connection.

You can look at the Canadian links Andytom69 found for me; the Canada and UK stores have a lot of shared inventory.

Sorry to disillusion you all but this is a dead end.

I have a bunch of those magnetic adapters. Tried them on my Charging base.

DJI have reversed the magnets so the standard connectors will not work. It just rejects them.

Guys thanks a lot for sorting this.  I did live chat with DJI. They wanted print out of the serial number of the drone gave up was banging my head against the wall

There's nothing to charge if there's no battery in it?  I'm not sure I understand your question.

I keep mine displayed on the base without a battery, as I do not want the battery remaining full charge anyways.  The ring still lights up around the outside, etc.


As far as the connectors go, when I bought my base, it had both connectors (USB-C and the Micro-USB) in the box.   I'd double check your box if you still have it.

YES!  Do NOT spend that money on a simple USB charge Cable!  Where in Canada are you!  I have a BIN full of USB cables that would work for you!
Why people find the needs to spend that kind of money and think it's better quality is ridiculous
