I just can't get the robomaster ep to connect to my home WIFI, tried with a network which has both 2.4ghz and 5ghz and only 2.4Ghz.

It says connecting a few times and then nothing.

Is it possible to manually add the wifi info somehow?

I have the same issue, but only with some devices.  My iPhone 12 mini does not seem to connect, but my son’s iPhone SE (second gen) works no problem.  My daughter’s iPhone 7 won’t connect either.  I can see the Robomaster connect to my network, but it can’t seem to find the device it’s trying to connect with.

Have you tried with firewall disabled? It probably is connected to the wifi, but just not able to cumminicate with the Robomaster software.
