Summer may be fun, but when the weather gets cooler and the leaves start falling, we can tell that a change is happening. Autumn is the transition season that leads us from the hot, bright sunny months into the cold, dark nights of winter and all of the fun the end of the year will bring. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.

Thanks, we are in full autumn now, winter starts half december over here in Belgium.
Really? I thought the meteorological seasons ran in quarters - so 01 December to 28 February is Winter meaning that we are now in late autumn. And the word 'upon' means coming soon, not present.

winter here begins half december. For the moment we have 17° celsius here, still walking in shorts and t-shirt during the day (not normal for this time of year. Nature here is about 3 weeks behind the normal way of seasons. Shots are from 3 weeks ago. Very strange autumn here in belgium this year. Colored trees and leaves falling off like nothing in the flemish part of our country and still green forrests in our ardens. It's only now that they start colouring in the ardens.
And I tought that the word upon was also used for the present, so mayby there the difference.

Global seasonal differences change in line with hemispheres and not countries.
The seasons in Belgium are the same as the UK.
I am referring to the meteorological seasons - it seems you are referring to the astrological seasons - which is not specific to Belgium but merely defines the seasons via equinoxes and solstices.
In either case - winter is upon us. Autumn is here.
