I started with the M2Z around 2 years ago. It was not used very often, but there were still over 300 flights with a total distance of over 1 million feet, and the MZ2 proved to be powerful and reliable. It was a fascinating experience and a lot of fun, and provided many interesting shots that would have absolutely not been possible without a drone.
Here in Germany, the drone flight is very limited, so many of the flights took place in Switzerland, where I only stay for a relatively short time.
I mostly use the longer focal lengths – thats why i did choose the Zoom). I now use 4 batteries with an average of 40 charging cycles - and no problems so far) with the standard remote control. The phone is the Redmi note 5.
So was everything perfect? Not quite, because (some very well known problems)
- at first there was a problem with the assembly of ND filters
- there were various problems with the waypoints - I hardly use any more, when programmed flying, then with third-party Litchi.
- sometimes the autofocus doesn't seem to work reliably, but to be on the safe side you have to tap the screen more often to refocus
- precision landing is not always perfect, ok, a small deviation is not too bad - some grass will then be mowed. But especially in the mountains there were - fortunately not often - deviations of several meters on the return home - and that can be fatal in the mountains (or over water). But if you always have an eye on the Mavic (which you should always do), you can of course intervene quickly and land manually.
Some examples of my vids have already been posted here before. In general, i shoot 4K vids. For stills i take frames from the vids. Here a few samples (resolution reduced from 4K to FullHD for upload - click to enlarge, for the original videos you may check out the channel 'PezAult' on Youtube):
