Am I the only one whose Mini 2 draws an orange line in the top left corner of all the videos?



Photos do not have it. All videos have it. It's more visible when the background is blue, but it's always there.

Here you can see how the top left corner pixels change color depending on the background:


Edit: In case you are wondering. It's not the propellers. It's also there with the drone on my hand and the propellers folded back

Hi there, sorry for the inconvenience caused. The issue has been forwarded to our engineers, our team is working hard on it and it will be optimized by new firmware, it is currently recommended that you give priority to shooting with 2.7K resolution, thanks for your kind understanding.

I have not seen this, I would think your drone will need to sent in for service.

That's quite noticeable.  Get it checked under warranty.

More samples by popular youtubers. The line changes color depending on the background. It's orange on blue backgrounds and blue on orange/brown backgrounds, and green in some cases:

- Peter McKinnon (see minute 12:25)
- CNET (1:59)
- Drone Film Guide (5:50)
- Yantastic (0:51)

In 4k videos on youtube it is almost always present. I also have this problem, I hope it can be solved with an update

I've watched a lot of videos on YouTube right now, and everyone has that orange line. But this seems to be limited to 4K video. Possible firmware error?
Below is the difference between 4K and 2.7K. The orange line is only visible in 4K.

Yes. I also noticed that 1080 clips seem not to have it. Neither do photos. I can also see it in the Fly app preview the moment I start recording in 4k. It's not there until you record

I have same line and it's easy to spot on all my videos. I hope they can fix it with FW update.

Could it be the propeller being picked up at that resolution, especially based on the shape?

Sorry I missed the first post with saying they have the problem without flying.

It's not the propeller. The line is there even with the arms folded.

Hopefully dji will be able to fix this via firmware...

DJI confirmed this will be fixed with the next firmware update. I'm convinced we'll get rid of Orange as scheduled.

Same here. Just send my mini 2 back. I see maybe prematurely.

I think the orange line is standard in all of our Mini 2's.
Today I recognise this phenomen in my videos also. But as you mentioned, only at the 4K video.
Hope DJI have or will have a solution for that also.

But I will mostly record in 2.7 MP mostly, Ocysync is more worth for me with this drone.

Ive shot 12 4k videos and lots of photos and don’t see this line. I posted one of my videos to this forum last week - search “covered bridge” to find it. No line that I see.

Your video of the covered bridge has the orange lines in it.

I see it now! Wow, I've looked at those videos in Premiere many times and did not see that! Good eye and thank you. I now join the club.

Another forum poster had this issue. DJI hasn’t recognized the issue, just now DJI Gamora did though.

I think DJI Natalia recognized it on her reply on this thread on the 13th too - see above.

I have this issue. I reported it to DJI a week or so ago and have been emailing support back and forth.

Support said the developers have addressed the issue and the next firmware update coming soon will have the fix. As expected they could not provide an estimated date of release for the firmware as the release is still in QA phase before it clears for release..

I only flew the Mini 2 twice. I didn't notice it on my first footage at first since it was around sunset and cloudy. Was hard to notice it in the footage. Second flight was a clear blue sky and was easily noticeable. Reviewed my first flight footage now aware of it and could see it. Both flights 4k 30fps. I took photos during first flight and not present in jpg or dng photos. I bought the drone for 4k so the 2k or less workaround isn't satisfactory to me.
I'm holding on flying my Mini 2 while it's in perfect physical condition in case next firmware release isn't a satisfactory fix so I can return it to Best Buy while I still have a return window. Then I'll consider re-buying when it's properly addressed.

Looks like a clamping issue. I'd take a look at the signals during the horizontal blanking corresponding at this location in the frame. Seems something is perturbating the CDS of the sensor ;)

I have it too. The first image have blue and the second orange.

I am waiting on new firmware too.

Hope the Firmwareupdate is coming soon, no fun to fly at the moment.
And crashes/blackscreens giving me the rest

If this problem cannot be resolved by the firmware, DJI should accept an initial defective replacement at no cost.
