DJI_0012.jpg

Just got my Mini 2 and went out just when the sun dipped into the clouds - shame.
Anyway, that drone is incredibly silent compared to my Mavic Air. Gotta tweak the settings a bit and learn how to fly (or rather to keep breathing when flying) without sensors...

Nice shot despite the weather.  That tower on the left appears to have a serious lean?  The angle of the lens in relation to the object, no doubt.

I doubt it leans. Should be the lens...

Thank you, A J!
Would have bought the Air 2 if it had already been certified for new EU regs.
But the mini will have its use cases. We'll see.

And you can breathe   Interesting that your Mini2 is quiet. My Mini 1 is very noisy - like a wasp on steroids

Wise decision. I have thoroughly enjoyed the MA2 since I bought it in May and have flown literally millions of feet with it from the Peak District to Kent but it will be an A3 legacy drone at the end of next month whereas the Mini 2 will be A1 - the level of restrictions between both is massive and frankly enough to sell it and get the Mini 2 just for the weight class. The fact it now records 4K and uses the same RC with OcuSync 2.0 makes an even easier decision. I will be keeping the MA2 for a little while yet though.

Have you ever listened to the Air (1)? That's a hornet swarm.
It think that is the loudest of the lot (don't know about Phantoms). Or at least the most annoying sound/pitch/frequency.
Then comes the Mavic 2, then the Mini 1, then the Air 2 and finally the Mini 2.
The noise is one of the reasons I got the Mini 2.

Do you know yet if the UK will adopt the drone regs of the EU? After Brexit?

The new regs take effect on the same day that the UK leave the EU. The CAA have confirmed that we will be adopting the EASA regulations on 31 December 2020.

I will be able to fly a Mini 2 over my house on new years day - I won't even be able to fly my Mavic Air 2 at a local park if there is just one person walking nearby!

It is the highest pitch for sure. The Air 1 is the loudest of all the DJI drones I have owned though the Phantom 4 Pro (V1) is a close second and both are louder than the Inspire! The Mavic Pro Platinum is the quietest yet though the Mini 2 seems very quiet on the reviews I've seen. Another reason to get one!

Are you sure that they ditch the old rules and have only the EU regs?
That would be quite nice for me in Germany because we have lots of natural reserves I can't fly... Can't fly 100 m or less from federal roads (motorways I can understand but "Bundestraßen", which are about your A-roads with one or two digits I think is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is 100 m from trains - as if a drone were to damage a train!). Can't fly above grounds with a house someone is living in...
Well, I don't think Germany will abolish its own rules.

It depends on the country but definitely seems that way here in the UK - I’ve just published a poll on in the Mavic section of the forum - if you scroll down you’ll see a link in one of my replies to the new CAA regs adopting the EASA rules - you can fly sub 250g drones in industrial, residential and commercial areas and over people but no open air assemblies of large groups like music concerts and stadiums

Sounds good. Makes the Mini an even better choice. And a certified Air 2 would be okay as well.

It does indeed. Although they have advised no drones will be retrospectively certified

It flies very smoothly and amazingly quiet.
I still have to get used to it but I like the new app.
I always had the sensors working except when I wanted to fly through tight spaces.
The flight time is much better though nowhere near 31 minutes (but the MA wasn't 21 minutes either...).
OcuSync is great. I went over 1200 m without a glitch.
The quality we'll have to see (and you too once I publish something).

My M2P throws obstacle warnings when there's nothing close by due to the sun I believe and its heart stopping.
