Got mine today and was super diappointed to see a small black scrape on the battery door. How do I verify it wasn't used? And opinions on whether I should return it VS request a small discount?

This is how it came in the box. I reported the issue to the seller and received a small discount. I tried to remove the marks with rubbing alcohol and it didn't work. Then I tried a pencil eraser and it did the trick.
I see you complained and got a discount, then managed to clean off the mark. I'd say you're a winner in that situation. Go ahead and enjoy what you bought.
Looking at that small mark I kind of think there are more important things in life to worry about
