Hello All,

It seems to me I read somewhere that I need to register my mini with the FAA, is this true?  If so could someone provide me with a link to do that.

Tnx
Ken

Google not working there?
Try this:  https://faadronezone.faa.gov/#/

But since the Mini weighs less than 250 grams, registration isn't necessary

Unless you add anything - for example prop guards, strobes, etc

Unless you add weight.  For example, I routinely fly at night so I add strobes for night flights.  That puts it over 250g.  As such, it technically requires registration.

Hello there Ken. Thank you for reaching out and for these information you have posted. In addition to this I will also post a DJI link ( https://www.dji.com/flyingtips/us )where in you can check some information about flying your DJI drone in different locations. Thank you.

The registration is for yourself if for recreational use only. It covers all drones you own. I registered myself (easy online for $5) because I wanted to be able to add accessory items if I wanted and not be "illegal" and I knew I was probably going to buy a larger drone in the future (I did). Only conspiracy theorists want you to be afraid of the government. Just pay the 5 bucks ;-)
